Mike Duffy

Director of Office of Examination and Chief Examiner

"FCA plays a critical role in American agriculture."

Mike Duffy was named chief examiner and director of FCA’s Office of Examination in February 2022. In that role, he is responsible for directing the examination and supervision of Farm Credit System institutions as well as monitoring the System’s condition and performance. Prior to that, Mr. Duffy served as OE’s credit program manager and was responsible for coordinating credit examination activities, credit guidance, and training. He joined FCA in 1989 and subsequently served as an examiner-in-charge and supervisory examiner. He has also worked on numerous agency projects and spent two years as a senior policy analyst in the Office of Regulatory Policy. Mr. Duffy grew up on a grain and livestock farm in northeast Iowa and received a Bachelor of Science in agricultural business from Iowa State University and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Minnesota.
