Dear Mr. Van Meter,
I am concerned about food security, and I believe to enhance that, local farmers, farmers markets and CSA's should receive funding to organize this.
Also, we could create food hubs, where local farmers can process and distribute food, and we should add local organic food producers to the FCS board.
I would hope that the focus would be on truly organic techniques, with no petro-chemicals involved.
Permaculture techniques should be promoted, so as to capture rainwater and infuse it into the ground, for instance.
Also, compost teas are cheaper than petrochemicals, and don't destroy the biology of the soil. Soil biology is the number one way to create healthy, abundant crops.
