Dear Mr. Van Meter,
I am an investor in the Tacoma Food Coop which is set to open August 1st. We plan to source as much of our inventory as possible from local farms and small businesses. The ability to get loans to start or expand small local farms is essential to a diverse product selection for the Coop, Farmer's Markets, CSAs, etc.
Large agribusiness models have not given us food security or food safety. Please pass this new rule. Thank you for listening to citizens on this issue. All we have is our voice and I hope it speaks louder to you than the monied interests who don't really care about people just profits.
