It is very important to me that local and regional farmers (especially organic farmers) get the capital they need to continue farming. A plan should be put into place for conducting outreach to local and regional food producers where periodic progress reports could be available to the public for review as well as adding local and regional food producers to the FCS board. This plan should include a commitment to developing lending and business support products with terms and benefits appropriate for local and regional food producers. It is highly important that local and regional farmers continue to have the support they need because my family only buys local organic produce. We feel this type of food is the only food that is beneficial to long-term environmental and personal health, as well as keeping the price of food down. Thank you, Nina Gee
