I am writing to encourage the FCA to increase the amount of money it loans to small farmers and providers of foods to our local farmers markets and CSAs. In addition, I encourage your agency to develop the intrastructure necessary to publicize the availability of such loans, and the background data gathering which will be necessary.
A growing number of people are looking for local, healty foods. The old ways of industrialized farming are being supplemented by new demands which require a very different skill set from our farmers and different types of loans. I urge you to develop FCA regulations and processes which will facilitate this necessary food revolution.
