I am writing to request that Farm Credit Services adopt plans to increase lending to small and medium size farmers growing for local markets. In the southeast Michigan area, the demand for local foods fars outstrips the supply. There are trained individuals interested in starting small and mid size farms that need financial assistance and business supports that will allow them to grow for local and regional markets.
